Our Story: The Magic in Looking Down

It started with a pair of black slip-on flats, covered in multicolored discs.

I was eight years old, getting ready for my cousin’s wedding. My mom had bought me a lovely new outfit, but it was the shoes that stole my heart. In the weeks leading up to the big day, I couldn’t wait. I would try them on in my bedroom, walk around, and just stare down at my feet with pure excitement.

That feeling never truly left me.

Fast forward 37 years. After a successful 20-year career in the medical device quality industry, I decided it was finally time to breathe life into a lifelong dream.

Ivy Marz was born.

People often ask me where the name comes from. This brand is truly my fourth child. I always said that if I had another baby girl, her name would be Ivy(keeping the tradition of my other children's three-letter names). And "Marz"? That’s the nickname my family has called me (short for Marie) for as long as I can remember.

Turning a dream into reality didn't happen overnight. For over two years, I immersed myself in the fashion industry—attending conferences, partnering with fashion consultants, and testing samples from manufacturers all over the world.

With two decades of medical device quality experience under my belt, my standards were exceptionally high. I knew I couldn’t compromise.
